My art has nothing to do with the all-consuming rule of purposeful rationalism and efficiency dictates. It is the gambler’s free game.

Meinrad Hoyer

Meinrad Hoyer, born in Karlsruhe in 1965, discovered his love of painting early on. By the age of 14, he was already showcasing his first works on a small scale. His artistic beginnings were shaped by copying famous role models like Caspar David Friedrich and Gothic sacred art. Gradually, he developed his own style, especially using pastel chalk on.

A bigger step came when he exhibited at an art supply store in Fellbach and was discovered there by a gallerist in 2000. She invited him to exhibit at the Galerie Zitrone in Schorndorf, which brought him positive press and greater attention. In 2017, Meinrad Hoyer was finally taken on by the Galerie Renz in Fellbach, where he has been permanently represented ever since. His works have also been shown at international art fairs in Luxembourg and Cologne, further strengthening his presence in the art market.
